Thomas David Johnson, 91, of South Pittsburg, Tn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at a healthcare facility with his family by his side.

Thomas was born on August 19, 1932, to the late Thomas Henry and Mary Coffelt Johnson.

He was of Baptist Faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. He also, was a Veteran of the United States Army and a retired merchant Marine.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his son, Thomas “Tommy” Johnson; sister, Sarah Francis Johnson, Alice Marie Johnson, Geneva Johnson, and Margaret Lanier; two brothers, Orville Johnson, and Harvey Johnson.

Survivors include his son, David (Patty) Johnson; daughter, Debbie St. Charles; daughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson; grandsons, Jeremy (Kiera) Johnson, Andy (Johna) Johnson, Taylor (Madeline) Johnson, and Chandler (Peyton) Johnson; greatgrandchildren, Sophia Johnson, Kailyn Johnson, Oliver Johnson, and Eleanor Johnson; sisters, Barbara Eason, and Bell Curtis; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tn. with Pastor Gary Bone officiating.

Visitation will be held for family and friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. (CST) at the funeral home prior to the funeral service in the funeral home chapel.
