Lee Athletics Leads In Gulf South All-Sports Trophy Standings

 Following the Gulf South Conference winter championships, Lee University is atop the overall standings in the 2023-24 GSC All-Sports Trophy. 

After being in third-place following the Fall, the Flames climbed two spots and now lead the conference with 81.875 points. The climb was highlighted by a fifth consecutive conference title for women's indoor track & field and men's indoor track and field claiming a title as well.  The men's basketball team was second in the GSC regular season and lost in the semifinals of the tournament.
The women's basketball came in third in the regular season and made it to the GSC Championship game.

Mississippi College, stayed at No. 2 with 73.375 points, while the University of West Florida slipped three spots to No. 4 with 62.125 points. The University of Alabama-Huntsville (67.375) jumped UWF to third,  while the University of West Georgia (50.375) rounds out the top five.

In addition, the conference announced the men's and women's specific standings. On the women's side, the Lady Flames now lead the way with 46.625 points. They jumped UWF and MC. The Argos, who led the way in the fall, have 37.500 points, while MC has 39.875. Meanwhile, the Flames topped the men's standings with 35.250 points, followed by Mississippi College (33.500) and UAH (32.875). 

The Overall All-Sports Trophy counts all sports that a school sponsors, with its regular-season finish in the standings counting towards 75 percent of the final rank a tournament finish making up the other 25 percent. Affiliate members (Flager, Lander, North Greenville and Spring Hill) are included in the calculations, but do not qualify for the All-Sports Trophy.
