William Lafayette “Willie” Parkerson, 79, of Apison, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Willie was born in Chattanooga, on Sept. 26, 1944, the son of the late George Washington Lafayette Parkerson. He enjoyed fishing, camping, animals, and was an avid gun collector. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Parkerson; son, Kent Parkerson; granddaughter, Rachel Blevins; grandson, Brad Parkerson, brother, Leon Ware; and a sister, Angel Worley.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Reed and Vickie Allen (Clifford); two step-daughters, Melinda Moneymaker and Stephanie Young (Scott); seven grandchildren, Bobby Joe Blevins, Taylor Hensley (Ty Hensley), Jarred Blevins, Jacob Parkerson, Drake Norman (Starr), Sarah Grant (Greg), and Richard Pursley (Mayi).

Graveside and interment services will be on Friday, April 26, at 1 p.m. in Plowman Cemetery with Pastor Luke Camlic officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home.
