Will Be Remembered For How Much She Loved

JoAnn Sharp Shipley, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior and with all those she loved who preceded her on Monday, May 13, 2024,

JoAnn recently said she wished to be remembered for how much she loved. Her reply to “I love you” was always “I love you more” and boy did she.

JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Perry Shipley; five children including Amy Ramsey (Bo), Kim Williams (Grady), Tim Shipley (Lavonda), Todd Shipley and Wayne Shipley; seven grandchildren including Ashton Bowen, Justin Hill, Luke Hill, Makala Ramsey (Carson Ramsey), Shawn Shipley (Natalie), Tyler Shipley (Brittany) and Will Williams; seven great grandchildren including Analeigh Shipley, Cooper Shipley, Emmie Hill, Ethen Shipley, Layla Shipley, Piper Shipley and Viola Shipley; honorary great-grandchildren (Caiden Stone, Kinsley Stone, Launa Freeland, Willow Freeland ); brother, Hartford A. Sharp, Jr.; brother-in-law, Pat Shipley.

JoAnn was preceded to heaven by her parents, Hartford A. Sharp, Sr., and Hattie Lee Thompson Sharp; four brothers including Jackie Sharp, Jerry Sharp, Jimmy Sharp and Joel Sharp; three sisters-in-law including Frances Sharp, Jean Sharp, and Margaret Sharp; daughter-in-law Janie Shipley; nieces LaDonna Sharp and Deborah Banks; and nephew Jeff Sharp.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, in the funeral home chapel. A private interment will follow for immediate family.
