Mary Ruth Pyle Rutherford
Mary Ruth Pyle Rutherford, 93, a resident of Alexian Village Health Care on Signal Mountain passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Mary was born March 18, 1931, in Chattanooga where she grew up and spent her entire life. She graduated from City High School and went on to work at GMAC Finance where she met the love of her life V. Darrell Rutherford. They were married for 47 years before Darrell’s passing in 2001.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann (Bud) Hines of Soddy Daisy, son Rick Rutherford of Hixson; five grandchildren, Matt, Brynn, Brian, Jeff and Marc and 10 great-grandchildren; her only sister, Nancy Pyle Wiley; a niece, two nephews and several cousins.
Special thanks to the nursing staff at Alexian PACE and Alexian Village for the special care they gave our mother.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
