Carolyn Ann Kiger Alley, 93, of Cookeville, formerly of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord on May 21, 2024.

Carolyn graduated from City High School, Chattanooga and Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. She worked for the Hamilton County school system for several years and retired from TVA where she worked as an administrative secretary for 17 years. Carolyn was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She volunteered at the Cheerio gift shop at Memorial Hospital and at the Raccoon Mountain TVA hydroelectric power station visitor’s center.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Gurney Oscar and Wenzola Robinson Kiger.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Lee Ann (Jim) Shipley, Linda Alley (Bill) Ord, and Bart Kiger (Becky) Alley, her grandchildren, Joshua (Brandi) Jolley, Jessica (Matt) Ross, Jordan (Charlene) Jolley, Jared (Cassie) Ord, Jason Ord and Lindsey Stoyanoff, Lynde (Rusty) Thompson, Alex (Andrew) Johnson, and 10 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Libby Walker, Jane Oglesby, Clara Houdek, and Steve and Sylvia Chardos.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 28, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life officiated by Dr. Doug Plumlee starting at 12:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest with her parents in the Forest Hills Cemetery.
