Bettye F. Watts, 97, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024.

She was a member of Bartlebaugh Baptist Church and was employed as a lab technician for DuPont for over 40 years. She loved baking and cooking and was known for having a Sunday dinner every week for her family. Bettye loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially going on vacations with them in her motorhome.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Bill Watts; parents, Will and Oneeta Ellis; brother, Pete Ellis, and sisters, Eloise Potter, Annie Culpepper, and Pat Fahrubel.

Bettye is survived by her daughters, Vicki Fryar (Harry) and Nicki Winkler (Nick); sisters, Grace Thompson and Linda Davenport; grandchildren, Carla Card (Jim), Billy Fryar, Kevin Fryar (Missy), Nicholas Winkler and Tiffany McGinnis (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Caitlin Bailey (Josh), Maggie Card, Emily Patterson, Alayna Fryar, William Fryar, Brystal McGinnis, Ian McGinnis and Kinzie McGinnis; great-great-grandchildren, Jace Bailey and Wesson Bailey, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, from 5-8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, June 20, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Don Ferguson officiating.

Bettye will be laid to rest in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park with her husband, Bill Watts.
