Longtime Secretary For Several Seventh Day Adventist Churches

Lorene Mitchell Boddy, 90, of Signal Mountain passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Alexian Village on Signal Mountain.

She was born on Jan. 6, 1934 to the late Henry and Rosie Mitchell. Lorene was a wonderful mother who loved her husband and family dearly. She grew up on her family’s farm on Lookout Mountain near Collinsville, Al. She graduated from Collegedale Academy and attended Southern Missionary College. Lorene retired from the Southern Union Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Stone Mountain, Ga., where she worked as a secretary in the accounting office. She also worked as a secretary for a few Seventh Day Adventist Churches.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Boddy; and siblings, Arthur (Bertha-Nel) Mitchell, Alfred (Viola) Mitchell, Ross (Florence) Mitchell, Mertice (Louis) Meyer, Chester (Winene) Mitchell, Nelda (Bernard) Reid, Mable (James) Joiner, Gladys Borah, and Kathleen (Alvin) Ringer.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Keith (Valerie) Boddy and Gayle (Bryan) Clark; grandchildren, Ryan Clark, Nicholas (Bethany) Clark, Kylie (Sidney) Hand; great-grandchildren, Layla Clark, Lilli Hand, Luci Hand and Lucas Clark; honorary sibling, Darlene Aldenderfer; sister-in-law, Linda (Calvin) Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 5, in Collegedale Memorial Park with Elder Troy McDougal officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
