The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance and Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office held a luncheon at Chattanooga State Friday to present grant monies to six Volunteer Fire Departments in Hamilton County. The fire services who were awarded the fire and/or rescue grant include the following:
Chattanooga-Hamilton County Rescue – Rescue Grant monies ($12,870.34) will be used to purchase new cliff/cave rescue items to replace “aging” rope, pulleys, rope hardware and backpacks
Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department – Fire Grant monies ($46,800) will be used to purchase air packs for fire personnel
Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department – Rescue Grant monies ($17, 356) will be used to purchase Swiftwater Rescue dry/wet suits, gloves and flashlight
Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department – Fire Grant monies ($54, 405.15) will be used to purchase upgrading air packs for fire personnel
Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department – Rescue Grant monies ($8,174) will be used to purchase a HURST Strong arm – powerful tool used to lift, cut, spread and breach doors with ease
Waldens Ridge Emergency Service – Fire Grant monies ($12,500) will be used to purchase thermal imaging cameras to replace “aging” thermal imaging cameras
