Boyd Harold Ochsner, 86, of Chattanooga went to be with our Lord on June 21, 2024.

A resident of Chattanooga for the past 40 years, Mr. Ochsner went to Bethany College for software engineering in Lindsborg, Kansas.

He joined the Navy from 1958 – 1962 proudly serving our country and went on a couple of cruisers with the Navy.

He retired from Tennessee Valley Authority after 25 years of service as a systems analyst and programmer.

He was a member of Graceworks Church.

There was absolutely nothing he could not do. He grew up on a farm in Kansas and could grow anything.

All of the banana trees you see around probably came from Boyd.

Boyd was proud of his family and will be missed but we know we will see him again,

He will be remembered as a wonderful Christian husband and a loving father.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Bruce (June) Ochsner; and sisters, Barbara Rieb and Bethyl (Vernon) Goltl.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Gunter Ochsner; children, Connie Love, Huntsville; Gayle (Mike) Kelly, Memphis; Darryl (Lynda) Ochsner, Memphis; Deborah (William) Redman, Soddy Daisy; Cindy (Charlie) Cox, Signal Mountain; Sheri (Lamar) Carter, Falling Water; Charles (Katrina) Gunter, Hixson; Murray (Allison) Gunter Jr., Signal Mountain; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Graceworks Church with Dr. Bill Owens and Rev. Tony Leonard officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the Ochsner Family at www.heritagechattanooga.com

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road, and Sunday from 12:30–1:30 p.m. at Graceworks Church.
