On May 24, 1928, in Catherine, Alabama, Palmetto Beasley Hall began her earthly journey and on July 13, 2024, she started her heavenly journey.

Palmetto was the third child of four, born to the union of the late William and Larcenia (McKlan) Beasley. After the death of both of her parents, at the age of eight, Palmetto was raised by her older siblings.

Palmetto was educated at the Lutheran Community School in Catherine, Al.

In 1945, Palmetto married Lindell Jones and moved to Chattanooga. Palmetto became a single parent of the six children born to this union.

In 1962, Palmetto married the late Alonzo Hall.

It was during the 1970s, Palmetto, affectionately known as “Pal”, became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Senior Pastor Paul A. McDaniel. She remained a faithful member until her passing, serving God and her Church in many capacities. These included the Bus Ministry, Kitchen Committee, Club #7, Adult Choir, and Birthday Club.

Palmetto was known for her excellent cooking skills and abilities specializing in many wonderful dishes such as collard greens and cornbread, and her signature dish, sweet potato pie.

Palmetto was a dedicated, dependable, and capable worker, giving assistance and help when called upon.

The evidence of Palmetto’s generous heart was shown as she opened her doors to others in their time of need.

Palmetto had a tremendous love for traveling, enjoying beautiful scenery and sights locally and around the world.

She was preceded in death by both parents, William and Larcenia Beasley; former husbands, Lindell Jones and Alonzo Hall; brothers, William Beasley, Clemmie Beasley, Frank Beasley, and John Beasley; sisters, Rachel Hayward, Roberta Dudley, and Katie Beasley; daughter, Pinkie L.
