U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From Erlanger Medical Center

His faith became sight! On Sunday, July 7, 2024, Simon William Myers, 84 of Ooltewah, Tennessee, closed his eyes on this Earth and opened his eyes to see his Savior’s face.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1939, in Willard, Oh., to the late Simon Isaac and Yvonne Holzhauer Myers. Simon was an U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1959 to 1963. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ooltewah. Simon retired from Erlanger Medical Center, Main Campus, in 2017.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Richard and David; his sisters, Dianne and Patricia.

Simon is survived by his “Sweetheart” of 61 years, Imogene (Minton) Myers; daughter, Joy (Terry) Bramlett; son, Simon Kenneth (Jennifer) Myers; four grandchildren, Amber (Tito) Cruz, Annabel Myers, Simon Isaac Myers, II and Samuel (Autumn) Bramlett; three “gg’s”, Elena Avery Cruz, Emelia Noelle Cruz and Ellery Isabella Cruz; sister, Ruth Ann Trushel, Willard, Oh.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Langston officiating.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, in the Chapel of Devotion at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, with the U.S. Air Force providing military honors.
