Fai Lee Smith, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, in a local hospital.

She was a 1972 graduate of Riverside High School and received her associate's degree in Accounting from Chattanooga State. Fai was an accountant with Eagle Power. She was a faithful member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and the accountant.

Fai was preceded in death by her father, William Lee; mother, Maude Lee; brother, Wanza Lee; sister, Juanita Lemon; brothers, William Edward Lee, Tyrone Lee, Wayne Lee, and Denson Lee; and son, Landreau Smith, Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Terry Smith, Sr.; son, Terry “Smitty” (Linette) Smith, Jr. of Chattanooga; honorary daughter, Tawana of Murfreesboro; daughter-in-law, Raphea (Tyson) Porter of Ooltewah; six grandchildren, Jacques Smith, Terry Smith, III, Ariyiona Smith, Trinity Smith, Zion Clark, and Landreau Smith, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Smith and Ianna Smith; sisters-in-law, Sharron Smith of Ft. Oglethorpe, Lonita Lee, and Carol Lee; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; special friends, Renita, Lamont, Maggie, Leon, Walter, Lynn; beloved church family at Oakwood Baptist Church.

Fai will lie in state on Friday, July 12, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon at Oakwood Baptist Church with Ministers Walter Cross and Ken Clark as the eulogists. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
