Jessie Bea Boone McEwen
Jessie Bea Boone McEwen passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, one day after her 99th birthday.
Jessie was born in Gladstone, Al. to Lola and Charlie J. Boone, Sr. The family moved to Huntsville, AL and eventually relocated to Chattanooga, when she was a child. As an adult, she lived in California for several years before moving back to Chattanooga. She retired from Hamilton County Nursing Home where she was employed as a dietary supervisor. She was a faithful member of Mount Ollie Primitive Baptist Church where she was the oldest member, having been a member for 65 years, as well as on the Mother Board, Sunday School teacher for many years and was also a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents, three sisters, and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Jasmine Wright and Sheryl Heard; three grandchildren, Ronnie Bullard Jr, Tawana (Charles) Chain, and Dr. Tomeka Harris; five great-grandchildren, Michael Goines, Tay’lyvist Abernathy, Kania Ricks, Ariel Chain, and Aurielle Chain; two great-great-grandchildren, Kaylex Goines and Isabella Goines; several very close nieces, nephews, cousins, and bonus daughter, Wanda Satterwhite.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.
The funeral will be held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Mount Ollie PB Church, 2112 Walker St., where Elder Gregory Edwards is the pastor and will be officiating.
Burial will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.
