Rick Castleberry
Rick Castleberry, 76, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee passed away on August 16, 2024.
He was born on May 10, 1948, in Chickamauga, Ga. Rick was a cherished member of his community and a beloved figure in the field of education.
Rick dedicated 33 years of his life to teaching automotive engineering, primarily at Harrison Bay Technology Center and Tyner Academy. His passion for teaching and his commitment to preparing young students for lifelong success left a lasting impact on many.
A proud veteran, Rick served in the U.S. Army. Rick enjoyed racing with his sons, building race cars and spending time at the track. Racing and spending quality time with his family and beloved pets were the cornerstone of his life.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Castleberry and his son, Bobby Castleberry.
Rick is survived by his wife, Rhonda Castleberry; sons, David (Krishna) Castleberry and Chuck (Shanna) Simpson; daughters, Charla (Matt) Bowen and Lisa Castleberry; grandchildren, Madeline and Julia Castleberry, Whitney (Randy) Valravn, Hannah Castleberry, Chase and Charis Mansfield, Gracie and Rowan Simpson, and Anna Bowen; brothers, Bill (Karen) and Pat (Terri) Castleberry; nephew, Jon (Michelle) Castleberry; nieces, April Castleberry and Lauren (Brooks) Savage; great-nieces, Ember Castleberry, Waverly and Sloan Savage; along with many beloved cousins, friends, and extended family members.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy. A graveside service will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at a later date.
