Barry Ellis Pearson
Barry Ellis Pearson, 65, of Ooltewah, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 26, 2024.
He was born to Ellis and Gayle Pearson on June 9, 1959, in Manchester, Tn. Barry worked for THS Foodservice where he served at several Chattanooga restaurants. He was a member of Bayside Baptist Church for 35 years. Barry also sang in the choir and was a member of Turning Point, a gospel quartet. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Pearson; his sister, Judith Pearson Watts; and his grandparents, George Washington "Josh" and Ozelle "Mama Tootsie" Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pennie Pearson; daughters, Heather (Nicholas) Clark and Victoria Kjeldgaard; daughters-in-love, Savannah Knuettel and Stephanie Templeton; grandkids, Alyssa Williams, Ansley Williams, Emma Clark, Noah Kjeldgaard, and Asher Kjeldgaard; mother, Gayle Pearson; brothers, Greg (Kathy) Pearson, Steve (Glenda) Pearson, and Roger (Kellyn) Pearson; and a host of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to a school that was close to Barry's heart, Skyuka Hall, 5600 Brainerd Road Suit A-24, Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.
The family will have a visitation Friday, Aug. 30, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Bayside Baptist Church, 6100 Highway 58, Harrison, Tn. 37341. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at the church.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
