Shots Fired Near Bachman Tunnels - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Police responded to shots fired after a report of three gunshots heard near the Bachman Tunnels. The reporting party advised that he had observed a dark-colored BMW SUV turning from Old Ringgold Road and going west through the Bachman Tunnel after the three shots had been heard. Police located two 9mm shell casings at Poindexter Avenue and Old Ringgold Road. No property damage was observed. No victims were reported.
 
Police were dispatched for a left storage motion alarm.
The business checked secured.

Police were dispatched for two motion activations and one entry activation. Police located an open door but were unable to check due to a large dog.

The caller reported his white 1999 GMC Sonoma stolen from the property of the apartments. The vehicle was entered NCIC.

The caller reported that the driver of a Nissan Rogue had cussed her out at the intersection of Ringgold Road and Camp Jordon Parkway after she cut them off. She was advised to call back in of the vehicle returned and tried to cause any issues.

The reporting party was concerned of a white Chrysler minivan that was sitting across the street from his business in the parking lot of the apartments. Police contacted the driver; he was found to live in the apartment complex.

The reporting party stated that her boss, her dispatcher, and her recruiter for the trucking company she worked for were giving her conflicting information through text and she was in fear for her safety. Police advised her to call her boss that she directly reported to to get a straight answer.

A female took $160 and a black dress from the business and pushed down the clerk/owner while exiting the building. The suspect ran to a nearby business and departed in a green sedan.

Between 2300 hours on September 13, 2024, and 1600 hours, September 13, person(s) unknown entered a vehicle and stole a passport.

Police responded to a suspicious vehicle with sovereign citizen insignia displayed on a brown 1978 Ford Chateau van parked in the 3700 block of Ringgold Road. Police encountered the owner on foot leaving the campaign office. The owner refused to provide his name but consented to a search of his vehicle and his belongings. The owner later provided his name. He adamantly stated that he was not a sovereign citizen and that he supported the police. Officers advised him not to drive his vehicle without displaying proper registration.

A caller notified the police that a black Ford was speeding down the road and backed into a neighbor's mailbox. Officers found the vehicle and spoke with the driver. She explained that she was on her way home to pick up some items and assured the Police that she would talk with the neighbor and take responsibility for any damages. She was checked for warrants and advised to drive more slowly in residential areas.

Police observed a blue Toyota Tacoma turn westbound onto Ringgold Road from John Ross Road and strike the curb. Following a traffic stop, a man was arrested for driving under the influence, underage consumption, driving without a license, and failure to maintain a lane.

Police arrested a man for possession of 1.4 ounces of suspected marijuana after his description matched that of a suspect observed to be attempting to steal from the nearby carwash money machine. He was trespassed from the carwash.
 
Police were conducting traffic enforcement when a vehicle passed units at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued traveling west, reaching speeds exceeding 74 miles per hour with the unit’s emergency equipment active until reaching S Seminole and Ringgold. The driver was later identified and charged with Reckless Driving.

A woman was stopped for driving with no headlights. After a records check was conducted, she was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Sessions Court for Criminal Impersonation.

Police responded after a man made lewd statements to female employees and refused management's request to leave. The overnight team lead requested he be trespassed from the property. The suspect was advised of the trespass, and he would be arrested if he returned to the property. He stated he understood. 

Police responded to the listed location on a burglar alarm. The alarm was accidentally set off by an electrical contractor making repairs.

Officers pulled a vehicle over for failure to maintain lane. The driver was arrested for driving while revoked (DUI)

Police stood by at the listed address so a party could retrieve his personal belongings, as his wife was the protected party in a temporary protection order. He was able to retrieve his belongings without incident.

Front activation was received. The alarm company talked with the person responsible which indicated accidental activation.

Police responded to the listed location for a warrant service. The subject was taken into custody on several sessions court warrants and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

A vehicle had its back right window smashed in, and two orange Husqvarna chainsaws were stolen.

Asset Protection employee informed police of two couples who were observed concealing an unknown amount of ammunition. At this time, the four suspects have not been identified.

Police responded to the listed address on a report of a delayed assault. A woman reported that her tenant had pushed her down and spit on her after a verbal altercation inside an apartment. Police spoke with the suspect on scene, and she admitted to spitting on the victim while she was on the ground but denied pushing her down. The suspect was taken into custody for Assault and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

A resident found a note on his Tesla which had a phone number with it. He called it and a recording with a female’s voice played. During the recording it said to give them $1000, or they would tell his girlfriend he got them pregnant. The recording also said they would see him back at his residence around 1930 tonight. He was advised to block the number and to call 911 if anything seemed suspicious.

Police responded to the listed address on a 911 hang up. Police checked the location, and no signs of distress could be located.

An employee reported that a male driving a silver Chevy Silverado, pulling a white and tan trailer, entered the gas station and damaged the gas pump and a pole in front of the gas pump. Report on file.

Police received an anonymous tip that a Toyota truck parked in the parking lot contained narcotics. Officers located a Toyota Tacoma matching the description. Police conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle after observing drug paraphernalia in plain view. During the search, officers located additional paraphernalia. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of Sessions Court. During a search incident to arrest, her purse contained multiple narcotics. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Gabapentin for resale, possession of Xanax for resale, possession of Oxycodone for resale, possession of Fentanyl for resale, and possession of Methamphetamine for resale.

A man was arrested for Driving on Revoked for DUI after he Failed to Yield to Emergency Traffic displayed on the shoulder of the 6300 block of Ringgold Road. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident.

Police were dispatched for a disorder between management and a customer. On the scene, a woman was seen arguing with management and criminally trespassed from the location. Later in the shift, she returned to the property to harass customers and was arrested for Criminal Trespassing and Public Intoxication.

While conducting a consensual encounter, police discovered narcotics paraphernalia inside an occupied vehicle parked at the gas station. Officers performed a probable cause search of both occupants inside the vehicle and discovered additional paraphernalia and narcotics. A man was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and two counts of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.

Police responded to an unconscious party at this address. Officers found a woman unconscious on the floor agonal breathing. Police started CPR until Fire and EMS arrived on the scene. EMS transported the patient to the hospital, conscious and talking.

Police observed a vehicle with no lights on swerving in the roadway. Officers conducted a traffic stop but the car tried to stop in the middle of the road. The driver then proceeded to Spring Creek Rd when they finally halted. The driver was arrested for DUI, Failure to maintain lane, Light law, and Driving without a License.

The store’s team lead requested that a party be criminally trespassed from this location. He stated that they have had several issues with her and have asked her several times not to return. The party stated she understood.
 
A citizen approached police to advise of someone burning in a yard, smoking up the neighborhood. Fire responded and had the individual put it out.

A female reported another female spit on her fork, but did not see it happen. Police talked with the reporting person and believed the allegation was unfounded.

The caller reported two parties throwing things on the floor. Management requested the two parties be criminally trespassed.

A caller reported a Mustang doing donuts in the parking lot. Police arrived to find 300 to 400 vehicles conducting an impromptu parade. Police made the people leave the park in the vehicle.

A man was arrested for Public Intoxication after causing alarm to Emergency Room staff and security. He showed signs and symptoms of intoxication and resisted answering questions surrounding his unusual behavior. Police determined he was a danger to himself and others and a public nuisance. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Police responded to the area to check the well-being of an elderly female walking North along John Ross Rd. Officers met her and found she had an outstanding arrest warrant out of General Sessions Court. Police transported her to the Hamilton County Jail.
 
Police responded to this address about a fight in the parking lot. Upon arrival police found two parties that were involved in a domestic disturbance. After a records check, a woman was found to have an outstanding East Ridge Warrant. A search incident to arrest showed she was in possession of meth for resale and drug paraphernalia. The woman was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

A resident wanted to report a handmade knife had been stolen from his apartment back in February of this year. He said his ex-girlfriend, or her friend, took the knife. He knew they had it because they have sent him pictures.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a bicyclist riding on Ringgold Road with no light after dark. During his field interview police discovered that he had active warrants in Redbank and Hamilton County. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Police saw a person sleeping in their car behind the motel. During his field interview police discovered that he was entered into NCIC as a missing person from Long Beach, California on January 1. It was found that the reporting party was a family member with dementia. He was removed as missing from NCIC.

While conducting routine patrol police saw a male who was shadow boxing in the parking lot at 4:00 in the morning. Police asked if everything was okay, and he said that he regularly trains in early in the morning hours. The party was homeless and referred to himself as “Junior”. Junior declined to cooperate for a field interview.

Police responded to a broken-down vehicle in the roadway on I-24. Officers provided traffic control until the vehicle could be removed.

A woman was arrested on a Fugitive Warrant out of Catoosa County.

Police responded to a delayed burglary attempt. The reporting party’s security camera captured an unknown male drive into her neighbor’s driveway and exit his silver SUV. The man attempted to open the downstairs door. No signs of tool marks or damage were observed.

A reporting party called to report that her mother had fallen and possibly broken her hip. The party told dispatch the house was likely locked. Police arrived and found the back door unlocked. Officers contacted the party who had fallen. Fire personnel stabilized the woman until EMS arrived to transport her to a local hospital.

Police executed an arrest warrant on a man for Retaliation for Past Actions and Underage Consumption. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

A woman reported her ex-boyfriend, and his new girlfriend, used her Money Card without her permission. She was advised to close that debit card and let the police know if any other unauthorized transactions occur.

A man was trespassed from the school after exhibiting strange behavior and knocking loudly on the front door.

A woman called police and expressed concern for her son after not hearing from him in several days. The party is an adult who is not endangered. The caller advised that she would follow up with police after she checks his friends’ addresses but cannot locate him.

Loss Prevention requested a report for items stolen from their store by an unidentified male.
Night Shift September 16

Following an LPR hit, police located a stolen U-Haul van in a parking lot. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Indianapolis, Indiana. A felony stop was conducted. The driver was taken into custody and charged with Theft of Property over $10,000 and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Police observed a vehicle failing to maintain lane and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, officers found that a man was driving while intoxicated (alcohol). He was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

Police responded on the report of a male walking through the parking lot with a handgun in his pocket. The reporting party wished to remain anonymous. Police located the male but did not observe any illegal behavior.

Police responded to a CPR in progress for an elderly female. Police and Fire/Rescue personnel provided immediate medical care until EMS arrived. The female was transported by EMS to a local hospital.

Police responded for an unruly customer. Officers found a man was in a verbal argument with management due to the refusal to serve him alcohol. With the police present, he coordinated a ride home and agreed to leave the business.

Police responded to the report of an individual making references of suicide through text messages. The reporting party also responded to the location but would not cooperate with police or provide any additional information. Police located the subject and discussed the situation. The individual stated he felt safe and did not wish to harm himself.

Police responded to the report of a vehicle crashing into a house. The vehicle fled prior to police arrival, but they were able to identify the automobile based on debris from a taillight. Officers located the suspect vehicle and determined the driver. The driver was taken into custody and charged with Reckless Endangerment and Leaving the Scene of an Accident – Property Damage.

While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a party was served with an East Ridge arrest warrant for Alteration of Certificate of Title.
