McCallie Edges Baylor In Middle School Tennis

Playing at McCallie, the Blue Tornado won 2 out of 3 doubles matches and 3 singles matches to defeat the Baylor Red Raiders 5-4 in middle school tennis.  Wylie Shumate, Brantley Lockhart, Ayan Chakraborty and Rhys Coleman won at numbers 2 and 3 doubles to give McCallie a 2-1 lead going into the singles.  Needing 3 wins to win the match, the first win came from #3 player Liam Tabibiazar followed by # 6 player Ayan Chakraborty.  With the match tied at 4-4, the clinching win came from number 4 player Calvin Caputo with an 8-4 victory.  McCallie is now 6-1.

The McCallie B team defeated the Baylor B team 14-0.  Winners were Rhys Coleman, Vikranth Basava, AJ Gupta, Mason Rudder, Zoan von Schultz, Porter O’shaughnessy, Tarek Ankar-Burdette, Findley Beasley, Asher Kean and Whit Higney.
