For the months after Jan. 21, 2021, nearly everyone with whom I came in contact was solely blaming President Biden for the high cost of gasoline.
They blamed him because he issued a moratorium on new drilling permits on Federal land or waters, or the shutdown of the Keystone Pipeline. Neither of those reasons had anything to do with the price of gasoline at that time.
The moratorium could have never impacted the price of gasoline since it takes years for a newly issued permit to reach a stage of actually pumping oil.
The termination of the Keystone Pipeline, which was never in operation, could not impact the price of oil either. Had it been completed it would have benefitted only Canadian oil producers, by getting their oil to a refinery in less time.
It would not have made the U.S. more energy independent. And without new wells and the Keystone Pipeline, what's happened?
I must ask this question: why are the Republicans not congratulating President Biden for recent lowering the price of gasoline?
Hypocrisy and embarrassment, I guess.

Mr. Joe Warren,
I think the bigger question you should ask.....why were gas prices lower in the Trump era than in the Biden era? A temporary drop of a few pennies is good, but we want it to be more sustained and 3.5 years in arrears. So, It might be a bit embarrassing high fiving and bump fisting your buddies when gasoline prices aren't quite down there to Trump era pricing or longevity just yet.
On the flip side, I'm not sure if you've read the latest news. President Joe Biden is not running for re-election anymore. Lame duck, perhaps? Right now, he probably has more influence on the price of teain China than the price of gasoline in the United States.
And if you happen to know the person running the country right now (KH perhaps?)...tell them the southern border is still wide open, grocery prices are still very high, DOJ has gone rogue and the Secret Service is showing a profound ineptness at protecting a certain individual.
President Biden can be reached for comment at his favorite beach, sitting in a beach chair, chillin' by the surf. Be advised.....he may ramble a bit, as he is wont to do.
