Sons Of The American Revolution Have Elementary School Poster Contest

  • Monday, September 2, 2024

The John Sevier Chapter, Tennessee Society Sons of the American Revolution announces the opening of the annual SAR Elementary School Poster Contest for school year 2024 – 2025.

The theme for this school year is a Revolutionary War Person or Persons (personalities from 1764 to 1783 are included in the period).

All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students interested in the American Revolution are invited to participate in the poster contest.

The contest is open to public and private schools, parochial, home schooled, scouting, or children of the American Revolution member students in that same grade range.

Students from Bledsoe, Hamilton, Marion and Sequatchie Counties who have enthusiasm toward art, a love of American history, can participate in the contest individually, or through their organization, by contacting the John Sevier Chapter at email: johnsevierchapter@tnssar.org.

SAR members will determine the local winners prior to Dec. 20.  Cash prizes can be earned with other awards at the chapter, state, and national levels.
