"Moccasin Bend: Beginnings And Endings" Program Hike Is Oct. 12

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will present a special one-hour, ranger-led, 1.2-mile hike exploring the Old Federal Road across Moccasin Bend to Brown’s Ferry on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. The program will begin at the Brown’s Ferry Federal Road trailhead at 707 Moccasin Bend Road in Chattanooga. 

Officials said ,"There is, perhaps, no other place in the Chattanooga Valley that has witnessed and affected more aspects of this region’s human history than Moccasin Bend.
It is a place of beginnings and endings, from the earliest inhabitants, to the Federal Road, to the Trail of Tears and to today. Please join us as we explore the fascinating history associated with the nation’s first national archeological district."

Comfortable walking/hiking shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather are recommended.
