Local Community Health Partners To Host The 1st Annual Marion County Health Expo Sept. 28

  • Wednesday, September 4, 2024
The first annual Marion County Health Expo will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. CST in the Jasper Courthouse Square. The expo will provide attendees with health resources, education, games and fun for the entire community.

The expo is hosted by The University of Tennessee’s Community Registered Nurse Navigator (CRNN) program, UT/TSU Extension Marion County, the TN Department of Health and Marion County Coordinated School Health.

Attendees will sign in to receive a “bingo card” that they can get signed or stamped by over 30 participating vendors at the expo.
Once attendees have submitted a completed “bingo card,” they will be included in a drawing to win a variety of prizes. Vendors will also have giveaways at their tables for attendees to pick up as they make their way around the expo.

Vendors in attendance include Chattanooga Allergy Clinic, A Step Ahead Chattanooga, Cumberland Pediatric Foundation, Centerstone, Health Hero Tennessee, Food City, Nashville Diaper Connection and many others.

Community members are encouraged to take advantage of vendors’ offerings, including healthy recipe taste testing, pregnancy and early childhood education and resources, CT lung screenings for those that meet qualifications, vaccine education and onsite vaccine offerings, mental health screening and support, blood pressure and glucose screenings and much more.

“We are excited to bring together Marion County community health partners to offer the first Marion County Health Expo, bringing together an array of health resources, education and engaging activities to empower our community,” said Stephanie Walker, BSN, RN, Southeast Community registered nurse navigator for The University of Tennessee’s CRNN program. “This is a unique opportunity for everyone to access vital health services, from vaccine education and screenings to mental health support, all in one place. We encourage every community member to join us, take advantage of these offerings and make strides toward a healthier future together."

Food trucks will be onsite during the expo, as well as The River 104.9, who will be broadcasting live from the event. There is a Facebook event page entitled “Marion County Community Health Expo” with vendor spotlights and more information as the event gets closer.
