Top two individual finishes by teammates gave the East Hamilton boys and Baylor girls the 2024 City Prep championships Wednesday, at the Bear Trace Course at Harrison Bay.
Eight golfers broke par in the boy's competition, while just two of the girls were able to do so on beautiful day to be on the course.
Griffin Law and Tucker Wick sank a total of 15 birdie putts as they led the Hurricanes to the boy's title, topping McCallie by four strokes and Baylor by five.
Law, a UTC commit, blistered the Jack Nicklaus-designed course with an 8-under-par 64, leaving the field of 65 players in his dust.
Wick, who is heading to Lee University to continue his playing career, dropped in a half dozen birdie putts to counter a bogey for a 5-under 67 for his runner-up finish.
Baylor ran away with the girls' crown thanks to a 7-under 137, which was 13 shots better than Boyd Buchanan's 6-over 150.
Carlee Rogers, who played in the Junior PGA Championships in early August, took home low medalist honors among the 35 girls, dropping seven birdies on her way to a 6-under 66.
Lady Red Raider teammate Justine Edmond countered with a 1-under 71 to cap the winning tally.
Law and Wick, who were Top 5 finalist at the 2023 TSSAA State Championship, were joined by teammates Leo Vasquez, who tied for 14th with a 3-over 75, and Isaac Koh, who posted a 6-over 78, to round out East Hamilton's winning 4-under 284 tally.
McCallie fired even par led 2024 Tennessee Junior Amateur runner-up Billy Boroughs sinking five birdies on his way to a 4-under 68, to earn third place individual honors.
Tornado teammate Jack Martin was just a stroke back with a 3-under 69, tying him with Alex Robinson from Walker Valley and Baylor's Harry McGuire for fourth place.
Nate Coffman and James Gayle capped the McCallie tally with a 3-over 75 and a 4-over 76 respectively for Top 20 finishes.
The Baylor foursome finished at 1-over with McGuire's 69 supported by a Wyatt Manner and Brooks Englert both firing 1-over 73 to tie for 11th place, plus teammate Paval Bahti was 13th with a 2-over 74.
Signal Mountain and Walker Valley rounded out the Top 5 on the boys' side, shooting 300 and 302 respectively.
Braden Helle led the Eagles with a 2-under 70 to finish seventh individually.
Tucker Cruise (3-over 75), Scout Schlosser (5-over 77) and Pearce Lusk (6-over 78) rounded out the Signal Mountain total.
Robinson's 3-under paced the Mustangs, who also got a Top 10 finish from sophomore Harrion Yost, who tied Bradley Central's Andrew Suttles for ninth place with even-par rounds.
Cooper Lemons had a Top 20 tally for Walker Valley with a 4-over 76, while sophomore Colton Widener shot an 85 to cap the Herd's tally.
Posting Top 10 individual finishes were Collegedale Academy's Steven Guild, finishing eighth with a 1-under 71.
In the girls action, Boyd Buchanan's runner-up finish was due to Alli Troxell's third place even-par round, plus Gibbie Kay Cain finishing seventh individually with a 6-over 78.
Ooltewah teammates "Duck" Troxell and Delaney Ratchford tied for fifth place individually with 5-over 77s, giving the Lady Owls a third place team finish.
Bradley Central took fourth place behind junior Addie Geren's 4-over 76, making her the fourth low-medalist on the day.
Classmate Colby Ann Turner helped out with an 80 to tie for ninth place with Hixson's Merideth Gailey.
