Lieda Althea Hyde Klein passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 71.

Lieda was born on May 5, 1953, in Chattanooga.

She was a graduate of Tyner High School, class of 1971.

She was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church, Fort Oglethorpe, where she attended Sunday School and enjoyed singing in the choir. Lieda will always be remembered for her beautiful voice.

Lieda is survived by her daughter, Jerae Wallace (Craig) and three grandchildren, Shelby, Graydon, and Samuel Wallace of Clemson, South Carolina; siblings, Delisa Mason, Eldon Hyde and Nada Hyde; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and close friends, Pam Bratton, Linda Morris and Marilyn Tucci.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James S. Hyde Jr. and Opal M. Hyde of Rossville, Ga.

A celebration of life was held at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, with remarks from Ronnie Born and Craig Wallace and a vocal rendition of “I’ll Fly Away” sung by Shelby Wallace.

A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date.

Contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church, Fort Oglethorpe, 115 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. 30742 in memory of Lieda.
