Dameion Mar’tez Coonrod, 32, passed away on December 15, 2024.

Born on April 26, 1992, Dameion brought light, love, and joy to all who knew him. He was a proud and devoted brother, chef, cousin, father, friend, and son. Dameion loved life and found joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. He had a passion for cooking, sports, comedy, and sharing his love of music. He brought laughter and warmth wherever he went, leaving behind countless memories filled with love, kindness, and joy.

Dameion was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Mamie Coonrod, Dorris Boyd, Annie Owens, and Willie Owens; his grandparents Rhonda Fears and Melvin Owens; and his cousins Jada Menifee, Montrel Menifee, and Shanice Coonrod.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Detra Coonrod (Antonio) Shackleford, and father, Lydell Boyd; his beloved children: sons, Jace Coonrod and Bronx Coonrod and Jayden Coonrod, and daughter, Harlem Coonrod; his grandmother, Theresa Finch and godmother, Vivian White. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings: sisters, Antonia Shackleford, Dametria Shackleford, Antania Shackleford, Jasmine Brown, Nychelle Hayes, Hannah Boyd, and Maliyah Boyd, and brothers Lydell Boyd Jr. and Kydell Boyd. He is survived by his aunts, Jessica (James) Belton, Demetrus (Anthony) Gladden, Latisha (Antonio) Menifee, Nicole Boyd, and Tina Anderson, and his uncles, Tremaine Owens and Ricky Coonrod, as well as numerous other close family members and friends.

Though our hearts ache with his absence, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace. Dameion’s light will continue to shine through the lives he touched and the love he gave so selflessly. Rest in peace, Dameion. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
