Larry D. Ruskaup, 85, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025.

He was born in Owensville, Missouri on March 13, 1939. He grew up in Missouri and attended the University of Missouri before joining the United States Army where he served as a Captain. Larry finished law school while in the military and went on to have a successful career as an attorney. He currently worked with the Bradford Law Firm in Lafayette, Ga. Larry also served as the former chair of the Catoosa County Republican Party. Larry enjoyed poetry, classic cars, and had a huge heart for helping animals and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruskaup; parents, Charles and Evelyn Ruskaup.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Laura Petersen and her fiance’, Andy Newton; daughter, Paula Bolton; grandson, Jacob Petersen; brother-in-law, Terry (Aiko) Slaughter; and special friend, Melissa Abel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel from 12–2 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 2:30 p.m.
