Janice Marie Ingram
Janice Marie Ingram, 86, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Spring Garden, Al., on Sept. 25, 1938, Janice was the third of five children born to Margaret and Robert Naugher. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Theresa, Anne, Laura Sue and is survived by her dear sister, Lynda (Phil).
In 1964, Janice moved to Chattanooga with her husband, Aaron Ingram, where she would go on to build a life full of love, care, and devotion to her family. She and Aaron were married for 65 years until his death in September of 2021.
A woman of simple joys, Janice was a lover of mornings and spent many peaceful hours birdwatching and tending to her beloved garden. Above all, Janice was fiercely dedicated to her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her unwavering love, kindness, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Whether it was a home-cooked meal or a sweet treat, Janice’s talents cooking were always a source of comfort and joy for her loved ones.
Janice was a long-time member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment throughout her life.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Janice’s caregivers: Kathy Ballew, Tish Chenkus, Heather Robertson, Autumn Sherlin, and their team, as well as the Hearth Hospice team, Sherry Bean and Becky Tinker, for their compassionate care and support.
Janice is survived by her three children: Anne Baugh (Terry), Laurie Stephens, and David Ingram Jr. (Sarah), as well as her four grandchildren: Bradley Stephens, Hannah Stephens, Andrew Ingram, and Daniel Ingram. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home - East Chapel on Friday, Jan. 17, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Dr. David Harr will be presiding over the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Hearth Hospice or First Centenary United Methodist Church in Janice's memory.
