Caroll R. McCormick
Caroll R. McCormick passed away on January 13, 2025.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1937, in Hazard, Ky. She grew up in Boynton, Ga., where she resided until she moved to Harrison. Caroll was a charter member of Bayside Baptist Church where she taught 1st and 3rd grade Sunday school for over 30 years. She served as the church historian, as a member of the Library Team, on the financial committee, many roles associated with the church and was the kindergarten teacher in the preschool for several years. She also filled in as pianist for various churches in the area. She worked as a secretary for Varnell Construction for many years.
She was an avid music lover, and enjoyed singing with her daughters, and grandchildren. Caroll enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Suddeth, second husband, Paul McCormick, parents, Marion Rogers, Sr., and Robbie Benton Rogers, and a sister, Lois Broom.
She is survived by her daughters, Susanne Hall (Allan), Ginger Howard, grandchildren, Allan Hall II (Nylas), Bradley Hall (Lisa), Eric Dill (Julie), Lindsay Johnson (Ryan), and Nicole Howard, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her siblings, Marion Rogers, Jr. (Awilda), Paulette Schultz, and Patty Edwards, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Caroll’s Life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Grady Cooper officiating at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Thursday prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
