U.S. Army Veteran Was Talented Artist And Enjoyed Woodworking And Carpentry

Donald Paul Kaylor, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Paul was born on Sept. 20, 1934, in Lynn Garden, Tn., and graduated from Rye Cove High School in Scott County, Va. He was a 1956 graduate of East Tennessee State University. After college, he served in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He spent most of this career in Internal Audit at Unum/Provident, earning his Certified Fraud Examiner credentials, before retiring in 1995.

He was a talented artist and enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, including numerous DIY projects around his home. Paul was a frequent Marshal at various local golf tournaments.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Roseanne Walls Kaylor, and parents Bill and Mae Kaylor.

He is survived by two children, Kendall Kaylor (Beth), and Kelli Kaylor; grandson, Kolby Kaylor; sister, Joann Bowen, and brother, Robert Kaylor, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the McCallie School Honor Fund.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn.
