Orange Grove Center announced its first summer day camp, Camp Osage. Camp Osage will offer an enriching and exclusive experience for school aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 6-17. The camp will feature a variety of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, games, outdoor exploration, and music. The program is tailored to create a safe and nurturing space where children can build confidence, make new friends, and experience the joys of summer. Orange Grove’s dedicated team of trained staff and volunteers is committed to ensuring that each camper has the support and accommodation they need to thrive.
“This is a special moment for Orange Grove’s Children’s Services as we launch our very first summer day camp. We are excited to offer a camp for kids in the community. I’m hopeful that parents will see us as a welcoming, supportive, and exciting summertime option for their children,” said Teena Joseph, director of Children’s Services at Orange Grove Center.
Camp Osage will run for three separate weeks, with each week offering a new and exciting theme.
July 7 – 11 Art in Nature: Combine arts and crafts with natural materials, such as making leaf rubbings, painted stones, and nature inspired sculptures.
July 14 – 18 Sports Mania: A week dedicated to learning and playing a mix of transitional and non-traditional sports, from basketball to frisbee.
July 21 – 25 Broadway Bound: Campers explore acting, singing, and dancing as they work toward performing their own mini-musical production.
The cost to attend Camp Osage is $350 per week. Transportation will not be provided. Campers must be dropped off and picked up at 8:45AM and 2:00PM on camp days.
