Ingeborg Weaver
Ingeborg Frieda Meiburg Weaver was born on November 23, 1924, in Hamburg, Germany. She lived in Germany until 1932, when at the age of eight, her parents emigrated to America. They came to America on a ship arriving, after an eight-day voyage, at Ellis Island, N.Y. Her family settled in Perth Amboy, N.J. for a time, but eventually moved to the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania. Inge graduated from Germantown High School. After graduating high school, Inge went on to work as a secretary for Seaboard Mutual Casualty Company.
In 1950, Inge married Charles Thomas Weaver. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 2014. They had four children: Anne, John, Elizabeth, and Paul. Together they made the decision that Inge would be a stay at home mom raising their children. They lived in Pennsylvania until 1983 when they retired and moved to Tennessee.
They started attending Woodland Park Baptist Church and it became their church home. Inge volunteered for 25 years with the toddler classes in the nursery. All of the children were known as “her children”. She would affectionately become known as Miss Inge. Many of the children she mentored stayed in touch with Inge as they grew older.
In keeping with her spirit of volunteerism, Inge has been a faithful supporter of Choices Pregnancy Resource Center in Chattanooga for the last 36 years. In June of 2024, Inge was formally recognized for having never missed a Walk for Life event in her 36 years of being associated with Choices.
On Nov. 18, 2024, Inge went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by her family. Inge was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a prayer warrior. She never missed an opportunity to bless someone’s life. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chuck Weaver; parents, Walter and Christine Meiburg; grandson, John Weaver Jr.; and son-in-law, Jess Kerley.
