Melvin Wolfe, 77, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025.

He was a resident of Harrison, and a faithful member and deacon of Maple Grove Baptist Church.

Melvin was a lifelong Mason and a proud Shriner. His kindness and generosity extended to all areas of his life, and he was always ready to lend a hand and help those in need.

He could often be found outdoors - whether gardening, woodworking, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, he had an undeniable passion for working with his hands. His love for building and creating something from scratch was reflected in his many handcrafted projects as well as his garden.

Melvin retired after many years of dedicated service with Arrow Supply Company. He was well respected by his colleagues and customers for his ability to always go the extra mile.

One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play softball and baseball, where he would cheer them from the sidelines. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he will be deeply missed.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Wolfe; parents, John and Gladys Wolfe, and brother, Kenneth Wolfe.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Welch; niece and caregiver, Renee Hammontree; grandchildren, Daniel Welch (Bridgett Gregory) and Ally Wynn (Chase); great-grandchildren, Mason Wolfe Wynn and Dallas Cooper Wynn, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 4-8 p.m. at Maple Grove Baptist Church.

A visitation will also be held on Friday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastors Ronnie Dotson and Jay Reed officiating.
