The scholarship audition is open to high school seniors living within a 40-mile radius of downtown Chattanooga.  The student may either be planning to major in the study of classical music in college or to major in another subject but continue classical music study for two years at a nationally accredited school of music.  The deadline for application is Feb.
23.  Details about the 2025 CMC Scholarship Audition process can be found on the CMC website.

Officials said, "The Chattanooga Music Club was founded in 1896 by a small group of musicians in Chattanooga.  The CMC holds the distinction of being the oldest music club in Tennessee and has played a leadership role in Chattanooga's fine arts for 125 years.  Since the establishment of its scholarship program in 1946, approximately 200 students have received scholarship awards.  Many of those recipients have become professional vocalists, instrumentalists, classroom and private teachers, orchestra directors, church musicians and work in scores of other professions related to music.

"The CMC provides free music concerts to the public and fosters other music activities for its members.  The club is also renowned for major restorations of the 100-year-old Austin pipe organ at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium."
