Donald Durrell “Don” Sparkman, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Don was a longtime member of Red Bank Baptist Church, taught the Royal Ambassadors Class, was active in the Primetimers. He coached YMCA football, church basketball and coached in the Red Bank Dixie Youth Baseball Association for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Lyla Sparkman.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Suanna Sparkman; sons, Donny Sparkman (Lara) and Todd Sparkman; grandchildren: Taylor Sparkman, Reagan Sparkman, Allison Sparkman, Brian Andrew Sparkman, Anna Cate Sparkman, Mary Conner Sparkman and Lyla James Sparkman; sister, Debbie Mowery; niece Angie Ellis.

Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Red Bank Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Red Bank Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Greer and Bill Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
