Linda Joyce Kramer, 73, of Hixson, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She had a zest for life, evident in the many passions that enriched her days from playing the lottery with her own special weekly numbers to cheering for her beloved Minnesota Vikings.

Linda cherished the simple pleasures: the graceful beauty of owls and cardinals, engaging card games, the artistry of Indian dream catchers, and the excitement of Sunday football. A huge fan of Buc-ee’s, she delighted in the little things, and her favorite colors, light blue and purple, reflected the warmth and vibrancy of her spirit.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Victor Otis Root, Sr., her sisters, Vickie Root and Barbara Combs, and her brother, Victor Otis Root, Jr.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted partner of 33 years, John Kramer, with whom she shared 19 wonderful years of marriage; her mother, Shirley Root; her daughters, Dawn and Eddie Glapinski, Suzie and Albert Lozano, and Patrick and Bonnie Mackey, Jr., and Chris and Jamie Mackey; her treasured grandchildren, Ryan, Zachary, Tara, Devin, Lizzy, PJ, Eli, Savannah, and Jaxson; as well as her siblings, Darlene Bonea, Judy and Kenny Godfrey, Cindy and Dale Smith, Kathy and Wayne Piepenbrink, and Charlie Root, along with many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.

Linda’s legacy of love, laughter, and passion for life joys will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in the funeral home chapel with Julian Atwood officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379, 423 843-2525. To share memories, photos or condolences please visit www.legacyfuneralhome.com.
