Our beloved Kathleen "Kathy" Bolinger, mother, grandmother, wife and friend, passed away on Saturday January 11, 2025.

Kathy was one of the greatest moms and grandmas a person could wish for. She and Gary would always take the kids out for adventures. They would make crafts, play, and cook together. The kids could not wait to go to Grandma and Papa’s! She was as involved as a person could be, a shining light for us all. She was a master chef whose burritos could make Gordon Ramsey cry. Everything she did in the kitchen was pure magic. Christmas cookies and fudge. The world’s greatest potato salad known to man. Fried chicken. Too much to list! She was a wonderful seamstress that made amazing creations and could fix anything. Kathy was beyond generous, she helped out in anyway she could, no one was beyond her generosity and time. When she was the office manager at Volunteers in Medicine, she would give money and food to those in hard times. Some of whom also got her coveted home cooking! She put so much of herself into everything she did. Her generosity and loving nature extended to everyone she encountered. She became a second Mom to a few special people as well. She was gentle soul who people gravitated to. She made lifelong friends everywhere she worked. She was one of the very rare people that made the world a better place. She is greatly missed.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1947, to the late Thomas and Laverne Maloney.

Preceding her in death are siblings, brother Brian Maloney, and sister Carol Maloney Olchawa. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Bolinger

Kathy was previously employed by Heil, The Mariott, The Reed House, and retired from Volunteers in Medicine.

She leaves three sons, Stephen (Steve) Burr, Michael (Mike) Burr and Brandon Bolinger, granddaughter, Lennon Bolinger; grandson, Thomas Bolinger; sister, Marjorie Plassmeyer; brother, Dennis Maloney.

The family will receive friends and family on Feb. 22, from noon until 4 p.m.at her former residence for a celebration of life, at 6245 Heritage Ridge Drive, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
