Barbara Colleen Smith went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2025, after an extended illness.

Colleen graduated from Birchwood High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She worked for several years in the insurance industry and then worked at TVA until her retirement.

Even though handicapped, she was an accomplished musician. Her greatest joy was performing at local churches with her beloved husband Gary. She was passionate about her dogs and dearly loved her beautiful Bichons.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Gladys Grishom; sister, Jeanne Scott; and her beloved husband of 44 years, Gary L. Smith.

Colleen Is survived by her brother, Larry (Terri) Grishom; nieces, Barbara Ann Scott and Jill (George) Troutman; nephew, John (Brandi) Scott; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her special friend, Cindy Witt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse.

The family will have a private graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, Tn. 37343.
