Hamilton County To Restore Historic Fireman’s Fountain

  • Wednesday, February 5, 2025

Hamilton County plans to restore the historic Fireman’s Fountain in Fountain Square, adjacent to the county courthouse, following the city of Chattanooga’s agreement to transfer the property to the county via quitclaim deed.

Having long maintained the site, the county will now fully refurbish the structure, preserving its history and honoring the legacy of Chattanooga’s firefighters.

Currently marked by yellow signs, the planned restoration will include landscaping the property to restore it to its former glory, with the intent to create a compact park in the heart of Chattanooga next to the historic county courthouse.

This project was funded in the FY2025 budget.

Further details on the restoration timeline and project specifics will be announced as plans progress.
