Bernard Renfroe
Bernard Renfroe, Sr. was born on February 25, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Willie C. Tyree and Patricia Renfroe.
Bernard was a deacon at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Howard High School Class of 77 and was a Hustling Tiger for life.
Bernard was a veteran of the United States Army, he had many talents in his working career before retiring in 2024, he was a CDL carrying truck driver, he was a floor technician, welder, he worked for his mother’s commercial cleaning company as well as a shade tree mechanic. Bernard was a jack of all trades! Bernard was very actively involved with his church.
Bernard, affectionately called “Nard” by many, was a son, brother, father, husband, grandfather and uncle. He took all these roles seriously. As a son, he was very devoted to his mother and grandmother and would spend much time with them. As a big brother, his younger sibling learned through his experiences the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly, which allowed them the opportunity to make valuable decisions. As a father, he was nurturing, loving and would have meaningful conversations with his only son. He was a compassionate and loving husband to his wife. Bernard overcame many challenges in his life which ultimately made him very strong in his faith and in his walk with God. His grandchildren, nieces and nephews loved his jovial sense of humor and his sideway jokes and stories. He could keep a room filled with laughter and smiles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and nephew, David Feaster.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Patricia Nash Renfroe, son, Bernard Vernell Renfroe Jr (Telisha) of Chattanooga; stepdaughters, Misti, Deirdre, and Candace; stepsons, Mevyn, Kevyn and Patrick and Charles Nash and Lester Owen of Chattanooga; sisters, Bonita Feaster Johnson of Stockbridge Ga., and Diane Williams of Chattanooga; brothers, Eddie (Kimberly) Williams of Conyers, Ga., Patrick (Jaquatte) Williams of Lithonia, Ga.. and Andre Grier of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Quinaiya McKinley and Adrian McKinley; nieces, Britney Williams, Kinsley Williams, Jaquatte Williams, Patra Williams; and a host of family and friends that will truly miss him.
