Ralph Delmont "Del" Eaves III, 64, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1961. Del lived a life marked by faith, family, and an unyielding passion for the outdoors and mechanical innovation.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, David W. Peters Jr, mother, Yvonne Short, father, Ralph D. Eaves Jr., maternal grandparents, Frank Short and Hilda Meeks Short, his paternal grandparents, Ralph D Eaves, and Edith Haley Eaves and his infant sister, Hilda Eaves.

Del was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Donna Carden-Eaves, whom he married on June 18, 2011. He was a loving father to his daughter, Alesha Westphal, and his son, Bryan L. Yother (Tonya Totherow-Yother), a loving grandfather to Alexis, Jordan, Blaine, Layla, Braedyn, Bryce, and Baylen, and brothers, Billy (Kathy) Eaves and John (Jessica) Eaves.

A skilled machinist that followed in his father's legacy of the mastery and performance in the boat industry, Del spent all of his life in Soddy Daisy, where he built a legacy of hard work and creativity. Known for his knack for inventing and tinkering with all things mechanical, he found joy in solving problems and bringing ideas to life. His love for the outdoors was evident in the time he spent exploring nature, a passion that complemented his hands-on spirit.

Del was a Christian whose faith guided his life. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family, and his warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at the funeral home. Services will be in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22. Burial will follow at Millsaps Cemetery.

Del’s memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, Donna, his children, his grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and ingenuity.
