Terrie E. Long, a social worker in the senior care program at Starr Regional Medical Center, will be one of the speakers for Morning Pointe of Athens’ second annual Made for More women’s conference on Saturday, April 12.
The event will start at noon with a lunch at Sweetwater First Baptist Church, 303 Wright St. in Sweetwater.

Ms. Long will share about unconditional love, based on John 13:25. She is not only a master of social work but also an ordained elder at Orchard Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chattanooga.
She has authored numerous devotionals and is a public speaker and soloist as well.

“When you understand how much God loves you, your life will be filled with joy and freedom beyond comprehension,” Ms. Long said.

“We are excited to welcome Terrie and hear the message she has to bring from her vibrant relationship with the Lord and her years of experience,” said Crystal Sutton, executive director at Morning Pointe of Athens. “Last year’s conference was such a blessing, and we can’t wait for this year’s.”

The afternoon will also include praise and worship, as well as another devotional message from Kristy Stafford, director of nursing at Morning Pointe of Athens. Ladies pre-teen and older are invited. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance at Sweetwater First Baptist Church or Morning Pointe of Athens. Event T-shirts will also be available for purchase for $15 beforehand or day-of.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing senior care through scholarships, caregiver support programs and educational initiatives throughout the Southeast. It was founded in 2014 by senior healthcare leaders Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow. The Foundation supports two partner schools in Athens, Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Athens, and Tennessee Wesleyan
University, in addition to Cleveland State Community College down the road in Cleveland.
