Our Democracy Is Under Attack - And Response

  • Wednesday, March 19, 2025

As an elder, I’ve lived through many political crises in this country—but I have never seen an attack on our democracy like this. In the past, there was bipartisan opposition to lawlessness. Today, the guardrails are being dismantled before our eyes, and we must sound the alarm.

My family history extends back generations to the Revolutionary War, with men who joined the militia to defend their rights, homes and families. Never in all these decades of life, did I suspect the enemy would come from within.

The current administration seems to be willing to do all it can to end the democracy of the Constitution as we now know it. The future for future generations is looking bleak.

Calamity , oh doom and despair… the sky is falling.

Fran Fluker has spoken and therefore our democracy is under attack. But wait, Fran neglected to say how our democracy is under attack. It seems as though it’s simply that the “current administration seems to be willing to do all it can to end democracy of the constitution as we know it.”

I wish Fran would explain what portion(s) of our democracy and constitution are under attack. Is it that finally an administration has the guts to reduce government bloat? Is it the attempts to reduce waste, fraud and corruption? Maybe it’s the closing of the borders and actually deporting criminal illegal immigrants?  Could it be the protecting our young girls in schools and sports?

Come on Chicken Little…. Which is it?
