Charles William Brackett, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert and Eva Brackett.

He was a lifelong Christian, most recently attending North Terrace Church of Christ, who preached and taught Bible both here and abroad.

Mr. Brackett was a United States Army veteran who served in Salzburg, Austria where he met the love of his life and fell in love with the country.

His brother, Art Brackett preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Maria Brackett; daughters, Cynthia Prosser of Riverview, FL and Deborah Knuth of Orlando, FL; son, Darren (Valerie) Brackett of Auburn, AL; three brothers, Robert (Sandy) Brackett of Vero Beach, FL, Ed (Brenda) Brackett of Chattanooga, TN and Ron Brackett of Eustis, FL; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at the funeral home. The memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
