Officers Find Seven Children In U-Haul - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

25-003147 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Rd– Child Endangerment
On March 25, East Ridge Police responded to the area regarding a report of children being loaded into the back of a U-Haul. An immediate search of the area conducted by numerous ERPD officers led to the U-Haul being found on I-75 North Bound. A traffic stop was conducted at the I-75 off
ramp, exit 3A. Seven juvenile females were in the U-Haul (two in the front cab, and five in the back storage compartment of the box truck). The East Ridge Police Department conducted interviews and verified the information regarding the children and their custodial status. These verifications took some time and involved reviewing documents from courts outside Tennessee, contacting family members in California and Georgia, and interfacing with our partner agencies from TBI and FBI.
The driver and father of the children, Brandon Blount of Nevada, was taken into custody for multiple counts of child endangerment and child neglect. CPS was notified and the children were all transported by EMS for medical evaluation.

 

Day Shift March 25: B Squad

25-003062 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Stolen Vehicle Recovery
The Chattanooga Police Department located a 2017 silver Hyundai Elantra that was reported stolen out of East Ridge. The vehicle was located at Elder St and Old Ringgold Rd unoccupied and abandoned. CPD notified the owner, and it was towed.

25-003133 – 4300 BLK Ringgold Road – Traffic Stop/Arrest
A man was arrested for Driving on Revoked for DUI after appearing to elude police detection by turning into the exit way of the restaurant’s drive-thru while it was closed. Police verified the Tennessee registration displayed on the white Chevy Impala and found it returned to a black Dodge. The party was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-003136 – 3300 BLK Ringgold Rd– Noise Complaint
Police responded to this location regarding a noise complaint from a nearby resident. The resident complained of a disturbing noise coming from this location that was disturbing the comfort of his home/office. Police spoke with the business owner who advised he had not played any loud music today. Officers reminded him of the noise ordinance in case he was not aware.

25-003137- 30 BLK Frawley Road- Backup EMS
Police were called about a fall victim with juveniles on the scene. Police got a secondary custodian to go to the address above and watch the children. the scene was turned over to Fire and HCEMS.

25-003138 – 3600 BLK Phelps St – Disorder
The caller stated her ex had stolen her cellphone and in return she stole the party’s keys. She said she tried to exchange them so they could both get what they wanted, but it turned physical, and both parties ended up with a small scratch on their face. Both parties agreed to separate for the day no charges filed due to it being mutual combat and a primary aggressor couldn’t be determined.

25-003140-6600 BLK Ringgold Road- Disorder
Police were dispatched to the inn after the reporting party advised the male party and an unknown female would not vacate their room. Police advised the man to vacate and gave him a courtesy ride to his home on Bennet Road. The man is now trespassed from this address and was advised not to return.

25-003141 – 6400 BLK – Disorder
A woman stated that she and her husband were arguing because his aunt is picking up their child and she doesn’t want that to happen. She also stated that he was refusing to give her vehicle back and she needs it to get around. The husband stated that before ERPD arrived she was punching him, but didn’t want to file charges. No evidence was present to support his statements. The
parties were advised that since they are married all properties are shared and they both have equal rights to them. Furthermore, ERPD informed the parties that if either one of them gives a family member permission to get their child they can as there is not a custody order in effect to prevent it. Parties went their separate ways from the scene.

25-003143 – 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft

Asset Protection reported a female wearing a black ballcap, long-sleeved black shirt and jeans stole miscellaneous hygiene products after her “payment” at the self-checkout failed to process due to unknown reasons. The subject was last seen entering a maroon/red Chevy Impala (2000-2005) and leaving the area.

25-003148 – 1500 BLK S Rugby Place – Road Hazard
Police responded to this location for a tree across the roadway. On scene, police verified there was a very large thick tree across the road prohibiting travel. Police requested the street department respond to disarticulate the tree.

Night Shift March 25: D Squad

25-003157 – 4000 BLK Sherlin Drive – Animal Call
A citizen reported seeing a dog chasing cars and people. On-call animal services responded and issued a warning citation after police observed the animal barking at neighbors and running freely without a collar. The dog appeared to be a non-aggressive nuisance.

25-003161 – 700 BLK Summit Avenue – Noise Complaint
A resident complained about a neighbor blasting music for two hours, causing a disturbance to his peace. Police asked the noisy resident to turn down his television volume after he demonstrated the volume level.

25-003162 – 4300 BLK Greenbriar Road – Delayed Domestic Assault
The victim reported that on March 21, 2025, she was assaulted by her children’s father. Further investigation will be needed to determine if an assault occurred.

25-003166 – 100 BLK Cecil Ln – Domestic Assault/ Arrest
Police responded to the above address for a domestic assault. A woman reported that her husband pushed and slapped her. She had visible red marks on her chest and the side of her face consistent with being assaulted. The man was arrested for domestic assault.

25-003169- 4200 Ringgold Road-Traffic Stop/DUI Arrest
Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a light law violation. After further investigation, a man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and a light law violation. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-003170-1300 BLK Ridgefield Cir-Backup Another Agency
Police responded in an attempt to locate a runaway juvenile from Catoosa County. The residents stated that there was no one by that name at that location, nor did they know the juvenile.
