U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From BellSouth After 40 Years

A. Traylor Robinson, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

He was born to Reuben and Willie Robinson on Dec. 6, 1930. Traylor was a graduate of Central High School and went on to further his education at UTC. He joined the U.S. Air Force while he was attending UTC in 1952. After four years of service, he worked for BellSouth 40 years and retired in 1995. Traylor enjoyed his retirement by collecting classic, antique cars. He attended Spring Creek Baptist Church. Traylor mostly enjoyed his time by being a granddad. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Traylor was preceded in death by his daughter, Candice Robinson; parents, listed above; brother, Allen Robinson; and sister, Emmie Lee Wetherford.

Survivors include his wife, Tena Robinson; daughters, Dottie Lee (Greg) Wooden and Carrie Robinson; step-daughter, Michele (Ronnie) Bull; grandchildren, Courtney (Chris) Pendergrass, Kaitlin Botts, Zachary Botts, Matthew (Jeri) Botts, Daniel Traylor (Nicole) Jordan, Abigail (Will) Harris, Logan (Kyra) Jordan, Mitchell Heard, Cody Heard, Garrett (Robin) Bull, Travis (Erika) Bull, Jill (Bryan) Knam, and Fany Gomez; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Garrett Bull, Travis Bull, Daniel Jordan, Eddie Capehart, Phil Osborne, and Lewis Boyte will be serving as pallbearers.

A visitation for Traylor will be held on Monday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
The family will then have a graveside Monday following the visitation at Chattanooga National Cemetery starting at 1:30 p.m. at 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, Tn. 37343.
