Wanda Edwina McCollum
Wanda Edwina McCollum, 75, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, left us to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Chattanooga, on May 8,1949. Wanda graduated from Red Bank High School in 1967. She was employed at Fillauer Prosthetics for many years where she retired to enjoy more time with her family. Wanda loved to cook and her favorite hobby was quilting. Wanda made so many beautiful quilts in her life time. She was a member at Hickory Valley Baptist Church.
On Sept. 5, 1987, Wanda married the love of her life, Johnny McCollum. The two were happily married for 37 years. Wanda served as a loving and supportive wife. A beloved wife, mother, nanny, and recently earned the title “great nanny”. Wanda will always be remembered by how much she loved the Lord and for her kindness and love she shown everyone she was around, even strangers
Wanda was prceded in death by her parents, Buck and Irene Newsom; brother, Shorty Newsom; sisters, Joan Williams and Nyoka Harvey.
Wanda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Johnny McCollum; sons, Jason (JeriAnn) and Shane Cramer; grandchildren, Cody (Katie) Cramer and Emma (Garrett) Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Andi, Levi and Jax; sisters, Carol (Danny) Smith and Marsha (Chuck) Hartman; brother-in-laws, Jimi (Alicia) McCollum and Johnny Williams; sister-in-laws, Sandi Smith, Mariea (Rodney) Taylor and Ruth Ray; mother-in-law, Elsie Williamson; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive fiends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 14, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, April 15, at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Kemp officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Jason Cramer, Cody Cramer, Greg Smith, Nick Smith, Garret Wheeler and Max Wheeler serving as pallbearers,
