Local 3 announces that Perry Pace will now lead all local news operations.

Officials said, "Mr. Pace started his career in Chattanooga and returns with three decades of newsroom experience and a fresh vision rooted in serving local viewers with accuracy, integrity and a focus on community service.

"Mr. Pace comes to Local 3 from serving as news director at WOI-TV in Des Moines, Ia., where he led the rollout of cutting-edge technology in local broadcast production and oversaw all day-to-day newsroom operations.
He has also served as an assistant news director at stations in Birmingham and Indianapolis and as an executive producer in Houston.

"Mr. Pace has spent considerable time in Chattanooga over the years because he has family members who live here. He feels a special connection to the community and is thrilled to return and put down roots."

“Local news is more important than ever. It’s the thread that connects neighborhoods, informs families and drives meaningful change,” said Mr. Pace. “I am honored to join a station and family-run broadcasting company with such a rich legacy and look forward to working with this talented team to tell stories that matter most to the communities we serve.”

“We found our perfect fit,” said Local 3 President and General Manager Callie Starnes. “We conducted a nationwide search, but Perry’s knowledge and understanding of the Tennessee Valley and what makes it special stood out, as did his commitment to local journalism and desire to lead by example. I have great confidence in Perry’s ability to lead Local 3 forward.”

Mr. Pace joined the Local 3 team on April 14.
