Duane Glen Ware of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the age of 59, after a brief battle with liver cancer.
For 38 years, Duane was an optician at Eyear Optical. His dedication to helping others see the world more clearly has continued in death. Duane’s final act of generosity was the donation of his eyes so others may see.
He lived life to the fullest and embraced every adventure that came his way. He found joy in snow skiing, scuba diving, camping, boating, and anything that allowed him to explore the world. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
Duane never missed an opportunity for a great story or a good laugh. He will be remembered for his adventurous heart and a natural way of making everyone feel like an old friend. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all of those lucky enough to have known and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy Ware and Agatha Joyce Ware.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Stacey Smith Ware, sons, Stephen (Ollie) Ware, Conner (Lauren) Ware, daughter, Emily (Xander) Donahue; grandchildren, Energy Lockhart, Kai Ware; sister, Susan Ware Bishop; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Chattanooga Whiskey Event Hall on Friday, May 9, from 4-8 p.m., where stories, laughter, and love will honor a life well-lived.
