William Leon Merriman, 81, of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2025.

He was born on July 15, 1943, in Chattanooga, Tn., to the late Crawford and Genita Merriman. Leon had worked for the Catoosa County Road Department where he loved his work and co-workers for over 50 years. Mr. Merriman was of the Baptist faith. He loved trout fishing, spending time with his fishing buddies, enjoyed visiting with neighbors, collecting classic model cars and being with his family. Leon was a very kind man, loved people and was the provider for his family.

He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by his dog, Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jackson.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 40 years, Linda Merriman; son, Shane Merriman; daughter, Angela Merriman; brother, Richard (Becky) Merriman; sisters, Paulette (Ron) Steele; step-sister, Debbie; grandchildren, Dravon, Brendan and Breanna Merriman; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gene and Susie Wilson, Tim Smith and Barbara Breneman for all their love and care.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
