Ethel Louise Goins Dunn
Ethel Louise Goins Dunn, born on August 27, 1934, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Crandall, Ga., at the age of 90. She was the beloved daughter of John Goins and Dovie Mae Bedwell Goins.
Ethel was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Lee Dunn, a disabled veteran of the Korean Conflict, as well as her cherished son, Ricky Lee Dunn, and granddaughter, Amy Mae Dunn Roach. Though she experienced great loss, Ethel's spirit remained unyielding.
She is survived by her loving children, Blenda Gay Dunn, Rodney and Cheryl Hudson, and James Edwin Dunn. Ethel found joy in her grandchildren: Eric and Renee Dunn, Jody and Holly Henderson, George and Nicole Casteel, Jason and Christy Goins, Wendy Goins, Renee Dunn, Cassandra Dunn, and Jonathon Dunn. She was also a proud great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to many, and her caregivers, who provided her with unwavering affection and support during her final years.
As a woman of faith, Ethel’s relationship with God was central to her life. She took great pleasure in watching church services on television daily, drawing strength and comfort from her spiritual convictions. Ethel was proud of her heritage, being a spirited descendant of Blackfoot and Cherokee lineage, and she carried a headstrong character that inspired those around her.
Ethel Louise Goins Dunn leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, and unwavering faith. Her family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
